Pottering in Poole

No pun intended as this is the home of Poole Pottery but we have literally pottered all day! The harbour is conveniently located on the doorstep of our hotel so stroll we did with lots of rest stops along the way.......

Not too long before coffee break time...
The Australian sports bar is very empty and up for lease........but "Dundees"??? Are we not past that yet??!!
We decided to take a boat cruise as I really wanted to see the jurassic coastline.

We learnt that Enid Blyton was inspired by Swanage and Purbeck to write her books -  and that Lord Baden Powell stared the scout movement here - on Brownsea Island......

Apparently in Summer this is the nudist's beach.....
and this is what we came to see - the World Heritage site of the Jurassic coast. It is hard to believe these rocks are over 100 million years old and that this coastline records 180 million years of ecological history...

We were also told that this is Millionaires' row...houses cost between 4 and 20 million pounds!!.....

On the way back we had a near-miss....we stopped suddenly and this is why.....very narrow escape for this little yatch!......

Back on shore and time for....fish and chips of course!
A bit more of an amble to see where the million dollar boats are made....

Plenty of people fishing and one young lad showed us the bait they use.......awful massive worms that bite!
and this is how they get them when the tide is out......

Peppa Pig rides for Beau!

So the sun is setting on another wonderful day.....
